Dermal Fillers are biocompatible substances that are injected into the skin to (1) restore volume, (2) diminish fine lines and wrinkles, (3) improve skin quality, and (4) stimulate collagen in the skin.
Dermal fillers can be temporary, semi-permanent, or permanent.
Temporary dermal fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring sugar that exists in the extracellular matrix of human tissue. Hyaluronic Acid Fillers (Juvederm Voluma, Restylane Kysse, Prollenium Versa, Revance RHA, Evolysse Smooth, Merz Belotero) are manufactured as sterile, biodegradable, non-pyrogenic, viscoelastic, clear and colorless gel implants. They works by pulling in water, which smooths away fine lines and wrinkles and restores volume. Results can last up to 2 years. Hyaluronic acid fillers are safe and effective, but if there are complications related to the injection such as asymmetry or vascular compromise, it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid.

Biostimulant Fillers are morphogenic, meaning that when injected into tissue, they stimulate the regeneration of that particular tissue.
