What Is NAD+ and

Why It Matters

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD⁺) might sound like a mouthful, but it’s one of the most essential molecules in your body. Think of it as your cells’ spark plug—without it, your body can’t generate energy efficiently, and you may start to feel that slowdown in your daily life: low energy, longer recovery, and even visible signs of aging.

Let’s break down what the latest science says about NAD⁺ and why more people are turning to it for a serious wellness upgrade.

1. More Energy, Less Fatigue

As we get older, our NAD⁺ levels naturally decline. This decline has been linked to fatigue, reduced cellular repair, and slower recovery from stress. But here’s the good news: new clinical studies are showing that replenishing NAD⁺ levels is both safe and effective.

  • Nuchido TIME+ Trial: In a double-blind study, adults who took an NAD⁺-boosting supplement saw a 26.5% increase in NAD⁺ levels—plus improvements in youth-associated proteins (like SIRT1) and reductions in inflammation.

  • Qualia NAD⁺ Study (2025): Participants experienced a 74% average boost in NAD⁺, with no serious side effects.

Bottom line: better NAD⁺ means more cellular energy, fewer sluggish days, and a shot at feeling younger from the inside out.

2. Better Metabolism, Better Balance

If you’re working on managing blood sugar, metabolism, or weight, NAD⁺ might be a game-changer.

  • A 2021 study found that postmenopausal women with prediabetes who took 250 mg/day of an NAD⁺ precursor (NMN) had better insulin sensitivity and activated key metabolic pathways that help your body process energy more efficiently.

In plain English: NAD⁺ helps your cells use energy better, making it easier to stay balanced and burn fuel the right way.

3. Endurance That Lasts

In a 2023 clinical trial, healthy adults who took NAD⁺ precursors (600–900 mg/day) for 60 days:

  • Walked significantly farther in a standardized endurance test

  • Reported feeling better overall

Our clients often say they recover faster after workouts and feel more resilient through the day—especially when pairing NAD⁺ with healthy habits like exercise and hydration.

4. Brain Health & Cellular Repair

While larger human trials are still ongoing, early findings are promising.

  • NAD⁺ is vital for DNA repair enzymes and nerve cell protection.

  • In lab studies, boosting NAD⁺ helped improve memory, focus, and reduced inflammation markers linked to aging and chronic illness.

This means NAD⁺ may not just make you feel sharper today—it might help your brain stay healthier tomorrow.

The Takeaway

NAD⁺ therapy isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution—but when used as part of a comprehensive wellness plan, it’s a powerful tool.

✔️ Safe & well-tolerated in clinical studies
✔️ Supports energy, metabolism, endurance, and brain repair
✔️ Works best alongside good nutrition, regular movement, and stress care

How is NAD+ Taken?

NAD+River Oaks Galleria (ROG) Medspa NAD+ Offerings
IV NAD+
Intravenous infusion of NAD+. Requires placement of a catheter into a vein with an infusion of NAD in normal saline or lactated ringers.

Frequency: Twice a week for 2 weeks (NAD+ Load), and then weekly infusions thereafter. Infusions are given slowly as they can cause nausea, chest tightness, or palpitations if given too fast.

ROG Medspa IV Formulations
NAD 250mg IV. 1-hr infusion. $245
NAD 500mg IV. 2-hr infusion. $490
NAD 750mg IV. 3-hr infusion. $735
NAD 1,000mg IV (max dose). 4-hr infusion. $980
SQ NAD+ Subcutaneous Injections are injected into fat pads (back of the arm, lower abdomen, or front of the thighs).

Frequency: Twice weekly for 2 weeks. Can keep at twice weekly dosing, or increase to three times a week injections thereafter. Start with 25mg and increase up to 100mg per injection.

ROG Medspa Injections
NAD 50mg. $50
NAD 100mg. $100

ROG Medspa Take Home Kit
NAD+ Monthly Kit. $235
Oral NAD+
Oral intake of Niagen™, which is a form of nicotinamide riboside (NR), a naturally occurring vitamin (B3 = niacin), and precursor to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+). Once ingested, NR is converted to nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN), and then to NAD+ inside of our cells by enzymes.

Frequency: Daily intake of 200mg - 1,000mg daily.

ROG Medspa Preferred Oral Preparation
Designs for Health CellGuard NR™ - 600mg daily - $84.50 (1 Mo Supply)
Designs for Health Mito NR™- 600mg daily - $86 (1 Mo Supply)
